The Iota Alpha Colony began its charter process in the fall of 2014 at the University of Wyoming. PIKE joined the Greek Life community of 7 other social fraternities and 5 sororities, and is making a huge impact on campus. Iota Alpha takes pride in recruiting men who exhibit the qualities of what it means to be a True Pike.

On September 26, 2014 5:30 PM, Logan G. Seger and Forest Smith, international expansion consultants, met with individuals that they had interviewed and recruited as new prospective members. Due to the Pi Kappa Alpha house being inaccessible, the prospective members met at the Pi Beta Phi house on Sorority Row. It was at this location that the colony elected a president and secretary, officially establishing the start of the new Pi Kappa Alpha colony at the University of Wyoming. The following Sunday, September 28th 2014, the men of the Colony at the University of Wyoming held their first formal meeting establishing goals and positions working to become a chapter. They had this meeting in the “Cinnamon Room” at the Physical Science Building on campus. The purpose of the colony's reinstatement on campus was to deviate from the conventional fraternity. This meant that the men recruited - while all illustrating the virtues, skills, and ambition which PIKE prides itself on - were from various backgrounds yet shared a similar vision for the future: to charter Iota Alpha. After years of hard work, the Iota Alpha Colony's petition to charter was accepted with conditions in October of 2016, with a scheduled installation date of November 19th. The men of the colony were initiated and the Chapter was installed during that weekend, with a fantastic Chartering Banquet organized by Installation Chairman Joe Rubino to close out the historic weekend.   chartering-weekend
