Epsilon Beta-Valparaiso University

Pi Kappa Alpha’s members strive to be Scholars, Leaders, Athletes, and Gentlemen, and they seek excellence in everything they do.  PIKE remains dedicated to developing men of integrity, intellect, success and high moral character, and to fostering a truly lifelong fraternal experience.

Most college kids like to go to a warm party destination for Spring Break. However, brother Alex Helander decided to do something else. Alex joined a group of other greek life students to go on a mission trip in Louisiana for Spring Break. The trip was 10 days and the group traveled to destinations all around the deep south. They spent time at food pantries, building houses for Habitat for Humanity, and doing other volunteer tasks. While in Memphis, TN, Alex ran into Pike International President Shad D. Williams! What a small world. And right after Spring Break, Alex got right back to work as a member of Morale Team for Dance Marathon. Keep up all the great, selfless work, Fonz!

Brother Jayden Eggimann, Fall’17, has been a man on a mission in his senior season for the Valpo Baseball Team. A transfer from Grand Canyon University, Jayden has started all 30 games for VU this year. He helped the team win a huge game on the road against his former team, GCU, by hitting a grand slam. He then had one of the best game of his career on April 11th against Milwaukee, where he went 3-3, including hitting a grand slam and driving in 7 runs! He leads the team in rbi’s this year (28) and is perfect in the field with a 1.000% fielding percentage. Keep it up, J!

May Member Spotlight – Dalton Stokes

Brother Stokes is a rising senior from sunny Vero Beach, Florida. He is a finance major (a young Jordan Belfort in our eyes) and a wide receiver on the VU Football Team. Dalton is been a member of the fraternity since it’s recolonization in early 2015. Since then he has had several responsibilities in the fraternity, from Alumni Relations to his current role as New Member Educator. A fun fact about Dalton is that he hails from the same hometown as country music superstar Jake Owen, and often sees him around town when he is back in Vero! Stokes has recently secured an internship opportunity with Merrill Lynch in nearby Merrillville, IN where he will be working this summer! Phi Phi, brotha!
