VERMILLION, SD – During the Spring of 2015, the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at the University of South Dakota attended two highly respected awards ceremonies. This year, the chapter earned a number of awards for both individuals and as a whole chapter.
At the President’s Celebration of University Leadership, Pi Kappa Alpha was honored with the Fraternity of the Year Award. Many brothers were also nominated for individual awards in various categories. Brent Olinger – a graduating senior – was awarded with the Dave Lorenz Senior Leadership Award, while Robert McCauley – a sophomore – was honored with the Outstanding Leadership and Service Award. Additionally, the PIKES Chapter Advisor – Dzenan Berberovic – received the Student Organization Advisor of the Year.
A few weeks later, the PIKES were also awarded top honors at the Order of Omega University of South Dakota Sorority and Fraternity Life Awards. The chapter earned three outstanding honors, including the Leadership Pillar and Citizenship Pillar – showcasing the chapter’s excellent brotherhood as well as service toward helping others. As well as these honors, the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity received the Ionic Award for Fraternity of the Year.
