In August, an unnamed storm caused devastating flood damage to the greater Baton Rouge area. Alpha Gamma at LSU had several actives and many alumni with homes that flooded. Even though classes had not yet started. The brothers of Alpha Gamma responded to the needs of their community. Actives jumped into the grueling process of “gutting” houses and removing flood debris. Over 575 hours of community service hours were completed during this time. In addition, the chapter created a fundraising account to support their chef, who also lost his home. In September, the chapter was able to present him with a check for $4,000 to offset some of his losses. Despite the chaos of the summer, the chapter is excited to begin the fall with a pledge class of 35.
