PIKE’s Puppies Philanthropy is a Success!
October 7, 2015 – The Alpha Phi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha is excited to announce that its Inaugural event, PIKE’s Puppies raised over $1,500 for the Story County Animal Shelter. Over 300 students made donations to play with puppies from the Story County Animal Shelter on the central campus of Iowa State University.
The Story County Animal Shelter is charged with care and management of animal issues within Story County. They aid in housing and care for abandoned and roaming domestic pets, animal neglect cases, as well as investigating bites and wildlife encounters with the citizens of story county. The Story County Animal Shelter has one of the lowest animal death rates for animal shelters across the state.
“A number of our members had visited the animal shelter in the past and are advocates for their cause. As a chapter, we decided it was time to step up to the plate and provide financial support for their good works” – Greg Power, VP of Pi Kappa Alpha
