Updates from the Theta Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha at Indiana State University
 – January 2018 – 

Theta Omicron finished the fall semester with 118 Actives and is the largest Fraternity on campus. Sigma Phi Epsilon is the second largest Fraternity with 79 members.

Fall Grades Update
After the first semester, the Pikes are in third place among Fraternities with a GPA of 3.137.
First was Delta Sigma Phi (3.4) and Sigma Phi Epsilon (3.18). The All Fraternity average was 3.06. The
university undergraduate male GPA is 2.7. Below are the Pikes with a 4.0 in the fall semester.

Intramurals Update
After the fall semester, the Pikes are in first place in intramurals with 924 total points. The second place team is Theta Chi with 904 points. Basketball will begin in January and Pikes have enough guys to field 4 basketball teams.

Delta Pi Rush is Underway
Recruitment Chair (Justin Deters – Teutopolis, IL) is currently leading the recruitment effort for the Delta Pi Rush Class which is expected to be initiated in the spring. The first event was a ‘Get To Know The Pikes’ event on January 22nd. If any alumni know of ISU students who are unaffiliated and should be reviewed for Pike Rush, please reach out to Justin at

Chapter Executives Conference
Kyle Deters, Andrew Case, Andrew Mersman and Casey Phillips attended the Pi Kappa Alpha Chapter Executive Conference in January at the Peabody hotel in Memphis. This 3-day conference is a leadership event focused on helping SMCs, Treasurers and Recruitment Chairmen prepare for their role and better serve their Chapter.

The Old Gold Pikecast
The Alumni Association is transforming The Old Gold newsletter into The Old Gold Pikecast. We’re bringing alumni communications into the 21st century with a live video production that will inform you about interesting and important news from the chapter, the University and Pike national organization.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and tell us what you’d like to hear about on future episodes. This is just another way to keep you informed about the legacy you helped create and to help us establish friendship on a firmer and more lasting basis.
