Nov 18, 2013 Daytona Beach, FL – The Lambda Mu Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is proud to announce it has special initiated the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Director of Athletics and head basketball coach, Steve Ridder, into our Fraternity. The special initiation was conducted on Sunday, November 10 at 12:00pm.
Steve Ridder truly embodies all the values and traditions set forth by the Fraternity. He joined the Embry-Riddle community in 1994 and has since grown the athletics department from offering five varsity sports with five full-time staff members, to 18 varsity sports and over 40 staff members. Embry-Riddle has won 13 consecutive Sun Conference Commissioner’s Cups and Steve has received many accolades, including the NAIA Athletics Director of the Year.
Not only is Steve an exceptional coach and athletics director, he is easily among the most inspirational and passionate men at our university. His dedication and commitment towards the students and community is unparalleled; Steve serves as a mentor to any student who reaches out to him and is commonly called on to deliver motivational speeches around campus. He lives the life of a Scholar, a Leader, an Athlete, and a Gentlemen every single day and exemplifies all the virtues our great Fraternity stands for. Steve Ridder is a True Pike.
The Lambda Mu chapter is ecstatic about having special initiated Steve Ridder into Pi Kappa Alpha. He was just as excited about the opportunity as the chapter and Lambda Mu looks forward to continual support of Steve and all his future endeavours.
