The FSU ATO House Corp. has executed a contract to purchase two adjacent pieces of property at 608, 616 and 618 West Lafayette Street. Closing is scheduled to occur on June 13, 2016. This ideal, on-campus location is just two blocks from Westcott Foundation, across the street from a new FSU parking garage and three blocks from the Tucker Civic Center and what will become the new FSU College of Business. The property contains an existing 20-unit apartment complex with an adjacent 4-person, 2-townhouse complex. Although this property does not look like a traditional fraternity house, it has tremendous potential. With ample parking and the adjacent lot, there are several options available to expand and build additional residential units and a traditional chapter house for social, meeting and dining functions in the future. Financing has been secured thanks in large part to the Richmond Property Group, a subsidiary of the ATO National Headquarters. Alumni and parents are encouraged to contribute to the Champions Downpayment Campaign and support the long-held dream of a permanent ATO house in Tallahassee. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Chris Diaz ’85, Fred Maglione ’93 or Skip Smith ’79.
