Gene Ready ’64 Honored

Alpha Tau Omega recognized Gene Ready ’64 for his ongoing commitment and dedication to Florida State University and the Epsilon Sigma Chapter during the ATO Alumni Weekend festivities on Friday, September 19, 2014. Ready, the immediate past chairman of the Seminole Boosters is CEO and broker of Ready Capital Group, a Lakeland-based commercial and investment real estate company.

Ready represented Polk County in the Florida House of Representatives from 1976 to 1984. He recently completed a term on the Polk County Planning Commission.

He is a director of the Seminole Greek Alumni Foundation and a member of the Varsity Club. He is a Golden Chief, and he and his wife, Barbara, have established an endowed scholarship in baseball.

At FSU, he was a scholarship athlete lettering in baseball.

While talking to the chapter, Ready explained how ATO gave him his start in life.

“I came to FSU with no money,” explained Ready. “ATO let me work in the kitchen to pay my fraternity dues and earn the money I needed to survive. I would not be where I am today were it not for ATO.”
